All-new Mini breaks cover

Mini has revealed the all-new Cooper, priced from £22,300 and deliveries expected in the Spring.

To be built at the Mini plant in Oxford, the new model will join the Mini Electric in the range.

Power options come from two petrol engines. A 1.5-litre, three-cylinder will be on offer with 156bhp, 230Nm of torque, meaning sixty miles an hour will be with you in 7.7 seconds.  Cooper S models get a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder and 204bhp.  This means the car will hit sixty in less than seven seconds.

The Cooper C will ensure the iconic model focuses on nostalgia with distinguished styling and choice for customers.  Three trim levels are on offer – Classic, Exclusive and Sport.

Classic trim gets essentials appearance, keeping the Mini wings in vibrant silver. Exclusive gets customisation options, including British Racing Green paint, Vescin Nightshade Blue interior, and dark interior headlining.  17’’ U-Spoke Silver wheels complete the look.  Two designs of 18’’ wheels are also available.

OLED Screen dominates Cooper C interior

Sport adds paddles on the steering wheel, 18’’ John Cooper Wors Lap Spoke 2-Tone Alloy wheels and black callipers with JCW badging.  JCW Black/Red knit and red accents on the dash, complete the styling.

Mini has built the interior around a new 24cm OLED display, with minimalism being key.  Powered by Mini Operating System 9, the screen has varying levels of intuitively.  The top half of the screen shows vehicle information and lower parts of the screen offer navigation, media, and phone connectivity.  Seven MINI modes are available for the screen: Core, Green, Go-Kart, Personal, Vibrant, Timeless and Vibrant.  Go-Kart mode changes the interior colours to anthracite and red and ‘Personal’ showing specific images and changes to interior lighting, for example.

Various driver assistance systems are on offer with Driver Assistance Plus offering support for steering, lane keeping and automatic speed and distance control.  The MINI Digital Key Plus enables drivers to use their phone as a key via the MINI App.

Prices for the new Mini kick off a £22,300 and deliveries are expected later in the Spring.
